Tender green tea leaves and a slender bud are skilfully hand rolled into elegant individual pearls which are naturally scented with fresh jasmine flowers. On brewing you are rewarded with a liquor that is sweet, richly fragrant and highly prized. This elegant and aromatic blend, crafted in China, is the perfect reason to pause in your day and inhale deeply. These leaves can be infused multiple times.
Brewing Tip: These hand-rolled pearls can be steeped multiple times in any one day. With each steep you will see the pearls loosening and unfurling to ultimately reveal two long tea leaves. After each steep, drain all the brewed liquor off the leaf and set the strained leaves aside to brew again.

A little more about this tea ...
The calming and nurturing nature of this tea embraces you each time you open the packet and engage with the sweet smell of jasmine.
The enormous amount of skill and craftsmanship is evident in this tea. Each individual pearl is hand rolled and contains slender leaf and bud. Once rolled the tea is wrapped in silk mesh and dried by fire to set the form. The tea is then held until August/September when the finest jasmine blossoms are in bloom. The jasmine flowers are picked before noon and set aside until evening when the petals begin to open in the cool air. Once open the marrying of the scent from the double petalled jasmine flower to the tea happens. This process perfectly illustrates the hygroscopic nature of tea as the leaf absorbs the beautiful jasmine fragrance. Our jasmine pearls have five applications of fresh jasmine flowers. After each scenting the flowers are removed and replaced with new flowers.
The perfect way to brew this tea is using water below boiling, steeped for no more than 3 minutes and then pouring all the liquor off the leaf with each brew. Set the leaves aside and then top up the pot with more water throughout the same day until the pearls are fully unfurled and all the flavour is exhausted (the two slender tea leaves will be very evident at this point and you will marvel how much tea is in each pearl). Depending on how strong you like your tea you will likely get three steeps from your leaves throughout the 24 hour period, leaving them to steep a little longer each time.
You may also have seen this tea referred to as Buddha's Tears.
Multiple infusions
To extract all the goodness from these leaves we recommend that you infuse them multiple times over the course of the day. Simply extend the steep time of each subsequent infusion and ensure all the liquid is drained off the leaves each time.
